010: Little-Known Perks Of Going Vegan

The Added Perks Of Going Vegan

Yes, you can eat better for your health, the planet, and the animals by switching to a plant based diet.

But what are the other benefits specifically for YOU when you switch to plant based?

At the end of the day, we are all slightly self-centered and want to know, “What’s in it for me?”

Well, here is what eating a plant based diet can do to your life.

Eating mostly plants is a great way to get more micronutrients which allows the body to have more energy.

The mid day crashes disappear as your body reaps the benefits of eating food that is alive and not dead.

You start to feel more alive, powerful, and energized with a plant based diet and you become a Plant Based Hero.

We often talk about the vibrant energy that we strive to feel by eating plant based, exercising, and connecting with other people.

We believe that everyone deserves to live a long, thriving, and vibrant lifestyle filled with energy and passion. That’s why we do what we do.

One of the most underrated and deficient macro nutrients, especially in the United States.

Eating a diet high in fiber can greatly reduce the risk of colon cancers as well as help you lose weight, have regular bowel movements, and feel lighter and more vibrant!

Recently, Mandy and I have been doing a raw vegan challenge for 7 days…

Talk about FIBER.

Allowing our body to more easily eliminate toxins and unneeded waste will allow our microbiome to thrive, which has been shown to make us feel happier.

The benefits of fiber go on and on, and we all need it in order for our body to thrive.

Lower Death Rate

As made evident by books like “How Not To Die” and “The Whole Foods Diet” a plant based diet can greatly reduce the risk of all of the major killing diseases in America like Heart Disease, Cancer, and Stroke.

Don’t believe me? There’s a ton of science and evidence in the books named above.

You can also check out the website NutrionFacts.org to find a plethora of information about preventing disease by eating a whole foods plant based diet.

At the end of the day, Vegans have lower death rates than people who eat the Standard American Diet, deservedly given the acronym SAD.

Socially Interesting

The old joke goes, “How do you know when someone is a vegan? Don’t worry, they’ll tell you.”

Personally, I’ve found quite the opposite to be true. I usually do not go telling people about it, but if 1 person knows, the entire room knows because they want to talk about it.

People like to talk about the fact that you are vegan.

It becomes a topic of interest as people start to wonder why and how you’re doing this.

This can be negative, and it might suck sometimes, but other times it feels good to be able to help and bring up interesting topics of discussion that are not being talked about elsewhere.

It depends what type of person you are.

Some people will love to be an outlier, socially interesting, and have important discussion topics to speak on.

Others will hate this part about being vegan, wishing they could just fade off into the background. Knowing what’s good for their health, they will still remain vegan.

Compassionate Living

Being compassionate feels good.

It feels good to walk through life knowing that you are doing your best for other living beings.

At the heart of veganism is fighting oppression.  Oppression stems from one being feeling that they are better and more worthy than another being.

Agreeing to come from a place that fights against that oppression and views all life as equal makes us feel better.

We are not more deserving of life than a cow, chicken, or pig. All life deserves to live.

When we can embody that compassion for other beings, we get to open up to a life that is truly engaging, bright, and fun while doing our best to help others…

Helping others feels amazing. That’s what it’s all about.

It’s All Love

Knowing that we’re coming from this compassionate place makes life feel better. We can come from a place of love when we meet new people, and walk through life coming from a place of equal life and love.

In today’s world, this is truly a Heroic quality that will bring us happiness forever.

Not only should we love animals as much as we love people…

We should love people.

Even the people who harm animals need to feel love in order to change.

No one wants to run into a burning building.

Just like no one wants to go toward a group that shows hatred toward their acts.

At Plant Based Hero, it’s all love. We love you as you are, but we want you to take care of yourself so you can live longer as well as help other beings, and help the planet by simply eating a healthy diet.
